“One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world.” – Malala Yousafzai

Education activist, inspirational speaker, and 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai arrived at McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA and surprised the waiting students. She spoke and shared her incredible story of perseverance, empowerment, and human rights.

The students cheered as Malala walked on stage to share her important message. "That's the beauty of living together--is that we celebrate each other's cultures and traditions," She said. "Education is the only way through which you can go forward."

After the program Malala met with a group of students for questions, discussion, and photos. The energy was electric.

Malala then travelled further downtown to visit Central Market and met many vendors there. She thanked Lancaster for being a place that welcomes refugees and expressed her appreciation for the city opening their doors to others.

Discover Malala’s story and support her mission to bring empowering educational initiatives to girls around the world. We were so thankful we had the opportunity to hear her inspiring words.
