Creative Pursuits is evidence of the magic that can happen when talented, successful, entrepreneurial women see a need in their community and work together to fill it.
Jessica Dey holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State. She performed on stage and screen in New York City before moving to Lancaster in 2012. Sarah Cope studied under Dale Moore (Senior Professor of Voice at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY) and has performed across the country. Both of these accomplished artists grace our local stages and share a passion for teaching their craft to the rising stars in our community. Jessica and Sarah came together in their realization that there was a need for rentable studio space in Lancaster that teachers could use to offer lessons on their own terms, and that performance artists could use for rehearsing, recording, and refining their craft. The two collaborated and founded Creative Pursuits.
The studio space is constantly alive with music and movement. Some of the most successful and sought-after dancers, musicians, singers, and performers are sharing their trade secrets, triumphs, and passions with talented hopefuls, who are excited to learn and grow. Creative Pursuits offers instruction in voice, guitar, piano, dance, violin, and yoga with new classes often being added. For students, the space offers a cornucopia of options to meet every need and schedule. For teachers, the space allows talented professionals to share their knowledge with students while building their own schedule on their own terms.
