PCA&D’s learning experience teaches students adaptive thinking techniques and effective making skills that result in a deliberate and influential artistic voice. Students engage with an interactive process of concept, construction, critique, and redesign in an immersive experiential environment. Because visual, verbal, and virtual communication is increasingly valued in a global society, our curriculum emphasizes the relationships among thinking, making, and communicating. We transform our students by challenging them to cultivate expansive points-of-view and create sophisticated visual output. The ability to continue to learn and create extends beyond the college experience.
PCA&D is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD) and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The College is also a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). Our art and design school is located in Lancaster, PA; just an hour and a half outside of Philadelphia.
Pennsylvania College of Art & Design's small intimate environment means our students receive more individualized instruction from the faculty, who are all professional, working artists and designers. Our studios and classrooms are comfortable and designed to meet our students' needs. The curriculum is challenging and its quality and reputation are evident in that the majority of our students succeed in finding art-related jobs or pursue advanced education immediately following graduation.
