The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde + Why We Love The Trust

We love The Trust Performing Arts Cente–a new arts destination downtown Lancaster. I had the opportunity to see THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE playing this past weekend and it was incredible.

Most are familiar with the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. A brilliant scientist becomes obsessed with the idea that everyone has two sides to their personalities, a good, moral side and a dark, evil side. Dr. Jekyll creates a concoction that allows his dark side, Mr. Hyde, to be free. Quickly, Dr. Jekyll loses control of Hyde and must destroy both of them to save himself.

Written by Kristen Brewer, THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE recounts this classic tale from the viewpoint of Dr. Jeckyll’s close friend, John Utterson. Experiencing the story from a concerned friend adds another level of grief and turmoil to an already tumultuous story. If that wasn’t enough of a challenge to the classic, all of this is betrayed by a single actor.

Jeremy Kendall is excellent as every character. Voice, mannerisms, and demeanor change in an instant. The details and emotions he gives to each character is impressive. Jeremy creates a poignant connection with the audience immediately. His performance is unique and should not be missed.

Although this play is over now, there are so many more coming soonFor tickets and more information on upcoming shows, please visit www.lancastertrust.com or call the box office at 717-208-7835.
