February — the month of love. A cold month filled with warm thoughts expressed to those near and dear to our hearts.
When people learn that I’m a recent transplant, they often ask: “How do you like living in Lancaster?” — to which I joyously reply “I LOVE Lancaster!”
I love the people, friendly and welcoming. I love the food scene, from farm markets to award-winning restaurants. I love the cultural events, numerous and often free. I love the arts scene, from public art to private galleries. I love the giving community, supportive of local non-profits and welcoming to refugees. I love the history, evident in traditions and architecture. I love the downtown area, walkable with many unique boutiques and local businesses.
Lancaster is easy to love. It’s a small city with a big heart & big dreams. Visitors love Lancaster, but the greatest love for the city is shown by the dedication and pride of its citizens. Locals love Lancaster and delight in celebrating it with a plethora of Lancaster merchandise. Lank-kiss-stir. LANC. Lancaster. No matter how it’s written, seeing any version of the word or the city map emblazoned on products in local businesses makes my heart happy.
