It’s not uncommon for passersby to feel drawn through the doors to escape the cold outside, and to literally stop and smell the roses; Luis and Diego wouldn’t have it any other way. “When you walk in the door, from the flowers to the customers, you’re surrounded by so much life. It’s magic in our garden.” Everyone who walks through the doors or calls in to the shop with an order is thought of and treated as a guest, not a customer. It’s important to all of the staff at El Jardin to get to know their guests and to understand the sentiment, emotion, and message that they are trying to portray through the flowers that they are sending. This attention to detail and connection to both people and nature sets El Jardin apart.
Both Luis and Diego credit their love of flowers, their passion for life, and their ability to connect with people to their mothers and their Hispanic heritage. They want their guests to have more than just a transaction that results in beautiful flowers. Instead, they connect the joy and uniqueness of a moment to a perfectly curated and artfully composed flower arrangement that adds to the sentiment behind it.
With their move to Queen Street, Luis and Diego are excited to take their gift for building connection, community, and making something beautiful where it wasn’t before to new heights. They anticipate the launch of a new venue, with a space for weddings, celebrations and community events. El Jardin is branching out to become an even bigger part of the most beautiful moments of Lancaster life.
