Fresh Face: Tanner Furniture Partners with Lancaster Coworking

Looking for a place to work that’s gorgeous, hip, and a little fun, too? Look no further than the latest concept in coworking from Tanner Furniture and Lancaster Coworking. Individuals or small companies are now able to rent designated workspace at Lancaster Coworking, a renovated tobacco warehouse outfitted with high-end office furniture supplied by Tanner Furniture. It’s a coworking space that also serves as an onsite commercial furniture showroom.

The designated work areas throughout Lancaster Coworking have been professionally appointed by Tanner Furniture to create optimal work flow ensuring that each individual will have what they need to be productive and comfortable within a coworking atmosphere.

The coworking space includes 18 designated workspaces, four private offices, a large conference room, flex space, two break rooms, and communal lounge areas. Furniture from Tanner includes ergonomic office chairs, lockable filing cabinets, mobile marker boards, mobile tables for small meeting areas, and a modernized phone booth for any individuals who would like to take their calls in private. Offices have electrically operated sit-and-stand desks and each workspace has high-speed internet access.

"It’s a coworking space that also serves as an onsite commercial furniture showroom."

Sims Architects carefully restored the circa 1900 tobacco warehouse, focusing on preserving original features, maximizing natural light, and imbuing the space with a sense of humor. Three restrooms feature punny floors, like the “marbled floor,” where actual toy marbles are sealed into the tile or the “cented” floor that features pennies. Because no matter how hard you’re working and how nice the space is, it always helps to laugh a little, too.

Tanner Furniture is a local, family-owned business that has been serving Central Pennsylvania since Gary Poffenberger started the company back in his family’s garage 30 years ago. This opportunity to partner with Lancaster Coworking provides the perfect opportunity for Lancaster to experience Tanner Furniture.

Sims Architects, designers of the 3,500 square-foot space, became the first members at Lancaster Coworking, which officially opened May 1 of this year.
