    Experience Fall at Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum

    Fall is officially here! As you plan your local adventures for this season, be sure to keep Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum top of mind—the 100-acre living history museum has a full lineup of family-friendly festive Fall events to enjoy right here in Lancaster. With plenty of beautiful foliage and seasonal celebrations, Landis Valley Museum is a delightful destination to visit during the final months of the year.

    Harvest Days 

    Saturday, October 12th & Sunday, October 13th | 11 AM – 5 PM 

    Enjoy fun for the whole family at Landis Valley Museum’s oldest and largest annual event. Celebrate the Fall harvest Pennsylvania-German traditional style with wagon rides, apple butter making, blacksmith demonstrations, candle making, and more. Harvest days include music, food, and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

    A culmination of a year’s worth of hard work, Harvest Days is Landis Valley’s oldest and largest family event.

    Halloween Lunch & Dinner Tours

    Lunch tour on Saturday, October 26th | 11 AM – 3 PM

    Dinner tour on Thursday, October 31st | 5:30 – 9 PM

    To celebrate Halloween,  head to Landis Valley Museum for spooky traditional stories and a delicious meal at the Landis Valley House Hotel. Afterward, learn about Pennsylvania-German funeral customs and enjoy a special tour, a wagon ride, and a healthy dose of old German superstitions. Reservations required.

    Lunch with the Landis Brothers 

    Saturday, November 16th | 11 AM – 3 PM

    Learn about Pennsylvania-German culture while dining with in-person reenactors playing Henry and George Landis, the museum founders, at the Landis Valley House Hotel. Ask questions, hear first hand about the Landis brothers’ lives, and experience a VIP tour of the brothers’ prized collection pieces. The menu features “mile-high” sandwiches and snapper soup. Reservations required.

    Museum Store Open House – Free Entry

    Saturday, November 30th & Sunday, December 1st | 9 AM – 5 PM

    Shop local artwork and unusual gifts right here in Lancaster at the Museum Store Open House on Small Business Saturday and Museum Store Sunday. The open house will feature in-store demonstrations, craft classes, and a wide selection of unique goods. Don’t miss this great opportunity to purchase locally handmade gifts for the holidays!

    Belsnickel Lunch & Dinner Tours

    Dinner tour on Tuesday, December 10th | 5:30 PM – 9 PM

    Lunch tour on Saturday, December 14th | 10:00 AM – 2 PM

    Don’t know what a Belsnickel is? Think a German fur-clad form of a Santa whose humor and character resembles Dwight from The Office! Adults and children alike are sure to enjoy this festive event. The entertaining lunch starts with a wine and cheese reception at the museum store before a visit with Belsnickel, a wagon ride, tour features, and delicious food at the Landis Valley House Hotel. Reservations required.

    Holiday Bonfire – Free Entry

    Friday, December 13th | 6 PM – 8:30 PM 

    Enjoy free admission to Landis Valley Museum’s huge holiday bonfire with a donation of canned goods that goes to the Lancaster County Food Hub. Stay warm around a huge bonfire, take wagon rides across the 100-acre village, tour decorated historic buildings, sip hot cider, and munch on cookies during this fun, community event.

    Country Christmas Village 

    Saturday, December 7th | 10 AM – 4 PM

    Sunday, December 8th | 12 PM – 4 PM

    With the entire village and museum decked out with traditional nature-based holiday decorations, the first weekend in December is a prime time to discover time-honored traditions at Landis Valley Museum. Check out what Pennsylvania-German farms of the past would have looked like!
