YWCA Race Against Racism Goes Virtual

The YWCA Lancaster announced that the longest consecutive-running Race Against Racism in the United States will be held virtually this year to prioritize the health and safety of the runners, volunteers and staff following recommended guidelines from CDC health and government officials.

“Our mission must go on. We are excited to provide a positive opportunity for our community to persevere and unite together virtually to take a stand against racism,” said Stacie Blake, Chief Executive Officer of the YWCA Lancaster, “We thank our generous sponsors and supporters for standing with us during this unprecedented time.”

All Race Against Racism participants will run or walk a distance of 5K (3.1 miles) on a treadmill, trail, track or road anytime between 12:00AM on March 25 and 11:59PM on April 25 then will encourage and connect their experiences with each other through a Race Against Racism Facebook or Instagram page utilizing the hashtags #RARLancaster #VirtualRace. In addition, the Kids Fun Run – 100 Yard Dash for children 12 and under will take place virtually too.
