CONTEST OBJECTIVE: This is the first mural competition for Lancaster Coworking. We have been faced with an unprecedented time with the Covid 19 Virus and there are really talented people who are forced to stay home. This seems like a great opportunity  to have a contest. Lancaster Coworking found a blank wall and put the contest together. They are using it as a good excuse to have fun, and give away prizes. They will select a first place, second place, and third place winner. They are hoping gifts cards will be given as honorable mention awards. You don’t have to have any prior mural experience or experience painting murals to enter. The mural may or may not actually be painted. (But hopefully it does!)

The theme for the first year of the Contest is “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive” Covid 19 has impacted us greatly. But there are so many positive things to focus on even in the midst of troubling times. Lancaster Coworking wants to be able to look back at this pivotal time in history and be reminded of the good in our society. The guidelines for entry are pretty generic. They are looking for positive – not negative, and happy. A few more interesting tidbits: The area selected is above an outdoor deck of a Cafe/ coffee shop. Assuming they will reopen, this is above where people dine outdoors. Also, Lancaster, Pennsylvania is a diversified city. Many immigrants call Lancaster their home. They do not want political submissions, anything vulgar, or murals that focus on one individual. Copyrighted material is forbidden, but other than that the contest is pretty open. They just want people to have fun and be creative.

Included  below are photos and a drawing of the elevation. There is one drawing that has a 1 ft x 1 ft grid that may be of help.
