Daniel Betancourt – President & CEO, Community First Fund

    ……….

Why Lancaster City is a special place:
I grew up in Lancaster and raised my family in the city. When I was a kid, I walked all the bustling streets and cut through the back alleys. I knew the city like the back of my hand and could feel its energy and vitality. Over the years, I also witnessed its downs. Playing a role in the city’s revitalization has been a significant part of my life. Today, Lancaster’s energy and vitality is back, making it a special place that is recognized nationally for its transformation.
How and why you are involved in the City:
I have lived in Lancaster my whole life, even attending college at Millersville University. This is, and always has been, my city. Serving as a school board member and being involved with various community-focused organizations has given me the opportunity to see Lancaster from many different perspectives. I have led the Community First Fund over the past 20 years, allowing me to focus my efforts on building a vibrant and healthy community for everyone who lives and works in this great city.
    Your hopes for the future:
Lancaster is well beyond the tipping point of economic revitalization, and I am so proud of Community First Fund’s role in its transformation. I see a city buzzing with the vitality that I experienced as a kid and building a community that embraces diversity and equality for all.
    Passion Project:
Seeing Community First Fund grow and evolve to make a major impact on Lancaster and beyond.
    Reason for Gratitude:
The innovative difference-makers and bold risk-takers that drive Lancaster’s success.
A little more good stuff about Dan:
