    Local Visionary – Dawn Cox

Introducing you to the people and places that make Lancaster special is our mission. In the spring edition of Fig, you met some of our friends who are forging new paths and are selflessly committed to our community. Now, more than ever, we want to show our appreciation.

    Dawn Cox – Owner, Prana

    ……….

“Lancaster City is special because it is welcoming, creative, vibrant and diverse. I was concerned that I was giving up those qualities when my family chose to move here 14 years ago from New York City. But I found that refugees, Amish, urban transplants, and native Lancastrians can all feel at home and thrive in the City.”

“I am involved in the City first by living in it, second by owning Prana Functional Manual Therapy. I also volunteer for organizations that make Lancaster City a place I am proud to call home. I feel it is important to get involved and share your skill set to help support your neighborhood. This creates community, instead of just a physical place in which you settle.”

"Prana is part of Lancaster City’s economy by providing jobs with benefits to help families not only survive, but thrive. We feel if people can live vivaciously without pain, they will have energy to volunteer and give back to their community."

“As a School District of Lancaster parent, I am assistant director of the Reynolds Middle School spring musical. This takes four months out of my year, but as the director and I say, “we are not only creating a show, we are helping to create humans.” We are helping create future leaders for Lancaster City.”

“I hope Lancaster City stays on this trajectory of support and respect for others, diversity, and creativity, while being good stewards of the finances and keeping our City safe.”
