The online Fig calendar is a curated list of community events happening in Downtown Lancaster.
The first Art Festival held in Long’s Park in 1976 inspired the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation to bring the community together around a love of art and investing in the park. They held their first Labor Day show in 1979, and the Art Festival now welcomes thousands of visitors each year over Labor Day weekend.
Returning for its 45th year this Labor Day, each Long’s Park Art Festival is a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of 200 artists. The highly-anticipated event will feature works in more than 20 mediums, including glass, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, photography and more.
“After 45 years, it’s tremendous to see how our community continues to support this Festival and the artists,” said Rick Faulkner, Art Festival Director. “Year after year, it just keeps getting better, and I’m overjoyed to see so many first-time attendees build their own love of art for life.”
During the weekend, you can engage directly with exhibitors to understand their processes and the stories behind their remarkable work. A particular highlight of the Festival is the Emerging Artists series, highlighting artists and artisans who represent the growth and evolution that brings art lovers back to the Festival every year. After walking the tree-lined paths of the Festival, you can explore the Raffle Art Gallery for a chance to win original, handcrafted pieces. Or enjoy an array of local culinary options, including wine, craft beer, and coffee.
Tickets to the Art Festival are available now at longspark.org. One-day admission is $15 while an all-weekend pass is available for $25. And for the first time, all art fans under 18 years of age enter free! All proceeds go to support the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation and its mission.
