A Place for Learning: The Spring 2022 Education Section
Thank you to our editorial sponsor, the High companies. Committed to community leadership, sustainable building and business practices, and advancement through the preservation of local heritage.
If you’ve ever been around a group of kids—running around, playing, exploring the world—you’ve seen firsthand just how unique and varied their personalities are. If you’re a parent, you know how important it is for them to learn in an environment where that personality and potential will flourish.
From academic programs to class size to extracurriculars, each piece is an important part of the decision-making puzzle.
Here in Lancaster County, we are extremely fortunate to have so many great options for public and private education, starting with preschool all the way to higher education —which is why it’s also a great place for continuing education as well. Explore these learning opportunities and discover a place where you or your child can find your passion and develop the skills to make a difference in the world.

They are bringing the best of all three campuses together—learning labs, makerspaces, trails and streams, athletic facilities, STEAM spaces, and a media center! Contact admissions to learn more and schedule a tour.
In 2021, Moravian University began the process of adding Lancaster Theological Seminary to its suite of educational offerings. Alongside the continuation of seminary programs, the historic LTS Ann Barshinger campus provides an ideal location for the expansion and launch of Moravian programs.
In the fall of 2022, Moravian University’s Lancaster Campus will open a lounge and learning space that will leverage the technology that is so important to Moravian’s status as an Apple Distinguished School and will be a place where online learners can gather, collaborate, network, and attend class.
Whether you are an organization looking for a customized education solution or a prospective student, the team at our Lancaster Campus is ready to help you.

At Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, we understand the value of a well-rounded college experience. While their time with us is brief by design, our students make a long-lasting impact on our community. Perhaps you’ve seen our chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) out and about? They are actively involved in a variety of community activities and service projects across Lancaster City.
We asked Juliette Forry, a second-year Architectural Technology student and member of AIAS, why being active in the community is important. Her answer? “Because people are important. If students want to see change in the world, they must lead by example.” We’re proud of our students, and proud to call Lancaster City home.
The journey starts here. Your child learns differently. Janus teaches differently. Students experience positive transformations as they learn how to learn and how to manage their learning differences, thriving in and out of the classroom and beyond graduation. Janus is the only K-12 school in Central PA dedicated to the needs of students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a language or math-based learning disability, executive function disorder, and auditory processing disorder.
In 2021, Stone students kayaked to school, drove 7,500 miles in search of Jack Kerouac, planted 5,000 trees, opened a pop-up drive-in movie theatre, and threw a music festival for 700 of their closest friends. And in every one of their classes—from multi-variable calculus, to entrepreneurship, to archeology, to bitcoin, to systems theory—they acquired the skills they need to solve the problems of the 21st Century.
