Arch Street Center’s Fishbowl Fundraiser returns May 2

Enjoy an exciting evening while supporting adults with serious mental illness.

A pillar for mental health resources in Lancaster since 1983, Arch Street Center’s story is rooted in seeing a need for social support for adults living with serious mental illness. Their vision was a dedicated center for these adults where they could bond with peers and develop lasting relationships in a safe, nurturing environment.

Their original offerings included coffee, snacks, games, occasional field trips, and a small evening meal. As they outgrew their original location, they moved their membership-based programming to a custom-designed facility in Lancaster City, where they now serve up to 45 members daily, host 45-60 activities per month, and serve approximately 20,000 meals annually.

Because membership to Arch Street Center is offered through referrals, they rely on partnership and generosity from the community to support their day-to-day operations. In 1990, they hosted the first annual event, now called their Fishbowl Fundraiser, where funds raised help Arch Street Center continue to provide essential services to individuals with mental health challenges, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

The highly-anticipated return of the 2024 event is May 2 at a brand-new location—Foundry48 in Lititz. The evening is jam-packed with exciting raffles, amazing prizes, and scrumptious food and drinks. With bids ranging from $1 to $5, everyone has a chance to win big and support a great cause. It will also feature a special segment that highlights the work and impact of Arch Street Center, allowing guests to learn more about their services and the amazing stories of their members.

“I have severe panic attacks, mostly triggered by social settings. Becoming an Arch Street member has gifted me the exercise to slowly start trusting again and interact from a light-hearted place because Arch Street is a light-hearted place. I belong here.” – Arch Street Center Member

New to this year’s event are a live auction and a cash raffle with a grand prize of $2,500. Also included in the evening’s lineup is a performance by the Nancy Reagans, a local and lively ‘80s cover band. Guests are encouraged to take it back in time and dress in their best ‘80s attire for this relaxed, fun party.

“The Fishbowl Fundraiser is a perfect excuse to have some fun and support an amazing organization. We are having an 80s theme, so you know it’s going to be a seriously fun night celebrating Arch Street Center and all the amazing things we do for our members and the Lancaster community. Dust off your legwarmers, grab your shoulder pads, and let’s party like it’s 1985!” – Susanne Materia, Arch Street Center Director of Development

Purchase your ticket today to experience this one-of-a-kind event with 100 raffles, food stations, complimentary drink ticket, live music, and more while supporting the ever-growing community at Arch Street Center and the important work being done there.
