What is a CASA Volunteer?

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are trained community volunteers who stand up for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. These advocates serve as a consistent, trusted voice for children navigating the child welfare and court systems. CASA of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties is part of a national network dedicated to supporting and empowering these volunteers through training, guidance, and ongoing resources.

The mission of CASA is to ensure that every abused or neglected child has a qualified, court-appointed volunteer advocating on their behalf. By thoroughly getting to know each child’s unique needs, circumstances, and hopes for the future, CASA volunteers ensure that informed decisions are made that promote safety, stability, and permanent homes for children in care.
