Bring the Family | Summer 2022
You're always the perfect age to enjoy Lancaster.
The sun is shining and summer memories are waiting to be made. With Lancaster gems tucked in every neighborhood around the city and beyond, it’s time to round up your family and friends who feel like family to make this one to remember. From warm weather classics like ice cream and baseball to unique Lancaster experiences like the Science Factory, this is just the start of your summer bucket list. This special article will include summer activities that everyone will enjoy.
Marge Landis, a resident of Garden Spot Village, and her granddaughter Corinne, are taking you on a tour of five spots fit for the whole family. Marge’s daughter (and Corinne’s mom) even stopped in for a hot dog at Clipper Magazine Stadium to join in on the fun! Use this guide to plan some quality time with the ones you love this summer season.
Bring the Family is a special section sponsored by our friends at Garden Spot Village, who are passionate about living life to the fullest. They believe in offering their residents opportunities to live and thrive in community because creating a meaningful future never ends.
1. Splits & Giggles Cafe

Splits & Giggles Cafe has all your favorite classics as well as more daring flavors if someone in the family likes a little adventure. Be sure to enjoy your treats out on their back patio or on a walk around the block—just don’t let them melt!

2. Lancaster Barnstormers
Take the family out to a ball game at Clipper Magazine Stadium this summer to root for Lancaster’s own minor league team—the Barnstormers. While enjoying the game, adults can grab a cold local pint at the Broken Bat Craft Beer Deck, and everyone can sit back and enjoy a hot dog with all the fixings. And for kids ages 2–14, the Kids’ Play Area makes a trip to the ball park even more fun.
