Finding the Common Thread at Filling’s

Filling’s clothing store has a long history and tradition of fine clothing and quality customer service. The family-owned shop, operated by four generations of Fillings, has been in business for over 92 years. Guests have come to expect excellent hospitality, custom tailoring, and unique merchandise. When a store has been serving the community for as long as Filling’s, the customers become like family, which is why the owners, Jay, Mary Beth, and their daughter Lindsay, took great care in planning the future of this legacy business. Filling’s is welcoming Benjamin D. Karl as a new partner and future owner.

Born and raised here, Ben loves Lancaster and has worked in specialty retail since high school. He has a deep respect for the Filling’s brand and is prepared to partner with the owners in their tailor-made strategy for the future. “I’m ready to lead Filling’s into its next generation through the guidance of Jay and Mary Beth over the next few years and with Lindsay long-term. I’m proud of the work accomplished by the Filling’s team and look forward to what I can build on this foundation,” says Ben.

The family is excited for Ben to join the Filling’s team and build new relationships with their customers. “With 12 years of experience in three great specialty stores, the family is excited to have someone who understands the uniqueness of the Filling’s brand and tradition. Ben’s passion for the business will provide a dynamic shopping experience,” says Jay Filling. The team hosted a lovely happy hour to welcome Ben and his wife Lisa to the Filling’s family and encourage long-time friends and first-time visitors to stop by the store and say hello. Long-standing customers will be met by the same staff they know and love, while experiencing Ben’s influence on new styles and merchandise.
