Form + Function by Julie Hillard.

Julie Hillard, shares her story about how she found herself using her organization skills and the love of helping others to start her own company Peaceful Living Solutions.

“I’ve always loved to organize,” Julie Hillard, owner of Peaceful Living Solutions, explains. “People have always told me my house is really organized, and then asked me to help them do things around theirs.”

So when she left her job as an administrative coordinator to work full-time as a professional organizer, it’d been a long time coming. Julie knew she was destined to own a business where she could help others. But what all started out as a decluttering service became something so much more profound over time.

As she undertook varying jobs, such as guiding retirees through their downsizing process, Julie began to realize what she was actually doing: supporting her clients through major life transitions. And with a background in social and nonprofit work, this was something she was not only well-equipped to handle–she also thoroughly enjoyed it.

Guided by compassion and a penchant for serenity, Julie now acts as an advocate and a guide for those entering these widely varying–and stressful–stages of life. Even after acquiring a certification from NASMM (the National Association of Senior Move Managers) and becoming a member of the NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals), she discovered a differing but notable need for assisting sellers with prepping their homes for showings in the competitive Lancaster real estate market.

When already enduring the stresses of such a major life transition, she found, folks were having a difficult time setting themselves apart and making the close. But with her unique eye for fresh, modern trends and her talent for organizing, Julie knew exactly how she could lift the burden off her clients and allow their homes to sell themselves. All of this was just a part of her greater vision of serving the community she loves. “I love Lancaster,” she says.“People are moving here in droves because it’s a wonderful place to live. I love being a part of that.”

In addition to hands-on help, Julie also holds informative seminars about finding peace in your home. These have recently, due to the pandemic, become webinars–but have never been more relevant.
