Four wines to try this spring at Vine Bar
Vine Bar's Founder Justina Latura is sharing about the concept of La Dolce Far Niente as you sip on seasonal varietals this spring.

Imagine the gentle swirl of wine in your glass, the alluring aroma rising above the ruby hues. Conversations flow as time slows, and for a moment, nothing else matters—this is la dolce vita.
In the heart of Lancaster, Vine Bar invites you to unplug, slow down, and savor the moment with four of their varietals perfect for spring. Whether you’re curled up on their couch, engaged in deep conversation or enjoying the art on the walls, they want you to feel unhurried and inspired by the beauty around you.
At Vine Bar, owner Justina Latura and her husband Craig celebrate this philosophy through the slow wine movement, partnering with artisans and generational winemakers who pour heart and soul into every bottle. These are the producers who take their time, crafting each vintage with meticulous care. Our winemakers often say, “Wine is made in the field”—a testament to the care given to the soil and vines throughout the year. For these sustainable farmers, tending to the vineyard is an art form, each vine is monitored with care, and every decision is made with respect for the land and its natural rhythms.
This commitment to craftsmanship means that what’s in your glass has been hand-harvested, nurtured with intention, and crafted by the palate of an artisan. Each bottle tells the story of the land, the weather, and the people who cared for the vines. It’s a reminder that the best things in life—like good wine—take time.
There is a saying in Italy ,”La Dolce Far Niente,” which translates to “the sweetness of doing nothing.” It’s one of Justina’s favorite things about working in Italy. It’s not about idleness; it’s about being present and finding joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Though Justina and Craig’s trips to Italy are anything but “nothing”—filled with winery visits, meetings, travel, and a marathon of eating—the essence of La Dolce Far Niente permeates every moment. It’s a way of life, a conscious effort to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us.

Justina observes it in the daily rituals: the morning espresso sipped at the café counter while exchanging stories with the barista, the long lunches where four simple ingredients create a meal bursting with flavor, and the evening aperitivo or passeggiata, a leisurely gathering of friends and family before dinner. These moments are dedicated to savoring life’s beauty.
Craig and Justina created Vine Bar to bring a little of La Dolce Far Niente to Lancaster—a place to connect and lose yourself in conversation or a book, appreciate the beauty in every glass, and feel unrushed. They like to say, “This is art for the taste buds,” while encouraging you to sip, smell, and savor each unique creation. So swirl your glass, breathe in the aroma, and join them in finding the simple joy in slowing down.
After all, life’s sweetest pleasures are often the simplest.
