Get ready for 24 hours of generosity for Lancaster at ExtraGive 2025

This community-wide day of philanthropy hosted by the Lancaster County Community Foundation returns on November 21.

Built on the idea that philanthropy is for everyone, ExtraGive is a community-wide celebration of generosity, which is hosted annually by Lancaster County Community Foundation. This single day supports hundreds of community benefit organizations serving Lancaster County, and since 2012, in just 13 days of philanthropy, our community has seen 40,000 people have come together to raise more than $110 million for more than 500 organizations.

“ExtraGive celebrates our community coming together to care for Lancaster County. It is a day when we are cheering for each other, supporting vital local causes, and inviting everyone to be part of strengthening our community for today and for our shared future.”

– Tracy Cutler, Executive Vice President

The Community Foundation is honored to bring the community together to celebrate generosity and shine a light on the work of hundreds of local organizations working to serve neighbors, care for animals, protect our green spaces and historical heritage, provide access to education, and so much more.

ExtraGive is back for its 14th year on Friday, November 21, 2025 with a special call to come together and build positive connection across the community, as we give generously to causes we care about and highlight the deep roots of generosity that continue to flourish in Lancaster.

How It Works

The ExtraGive will accept donations (minimum $10) at extragive.org from 12AM midnight through 11:59PM on November 21. Every dollar donated online to local organizations during that time will be stretched by the Stretch Pool, and all participating organizations will receive a portion of Stretch Pool based on the number of Unique Donors that gave to their cause. The nearly half a million dollars in stretch pool and prizes are made possible thanks to generous local sponsors and go directly to the organizations.

What’s New

  • ExtraGive Hype Kits: Designed to enhance and amplify local ExtraGive celebrations, Atomic has created high-style, easy-to-use visual impact to rent for events. Organizations and businesses hosting ExtraGive celebrations can access the kits that pack small in the trunk of a car and play big at a local event. Kits can be ordered via extragive.org/p/event-resources.
  • “Why I Give Extra” Video Prize: Individuals are invited to submit a short video sharing “Why I Give Extra” and highlighting their favorite organization. Each submission will be entered to win an extra $1,000 prize for the participating organization of choice and the videos may be featured on ExtraGive social media channels. Enter at extragive.org/p/prizes.

ExtraGive Fest

ExtraGive Fest returns with theme of lighting up Lancaster! This free event at the Lancaster
Marriott and Lancaster County Convention Center is created each year in partnership with Atomic— starting at 7PM through midnight and featuring live music, dancing, giving stations, photo opportunities, interactive “Lanc Brite” art installation, locally-sourced beverages, and everybody’s favorite donation countdown at midnight.

What You Need to Know

Family-Friendly: ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters will be on site and Parent Pods will be available for nursing, pumping, or a quiet place for young children.

New Silent Disco: Guests will have the option to be immersed in the excitement of ExtraGive Fest but dancing to their own beat in the Silent Disco zone. Free headphones and music access will be available to use as part of the Fest environment.

Fan Favorites: Mambojaz Dance Company will lead participants in live, interactive dance lessons—no experience necessary. An all-Lancaster bar selection will celebrate generosity and local businesses by raising a toast, including Pony Up! by Spring House Brewing, cocktails with Thistle Finch Distilleries, and wine from Waltz Vineyards. The night will end with a Mama Tried Band dance party from 10:30PM to midnight before the final donation celebration.

Griest Building Light Show: Back again this year is the 14-story Griest Building Light Show in Penn Square from 5PM–2AM. The chilly, dark November evening will be aglow with changing colors and patterns, inviting all passers-by to take a moment to celebrate our collective spirit of generosity and love of Lancaster County.

“By connecting philanthropists from all walks of life to organizations and initiatives on the frontlines of impact, we harness the power of endowment to help shape a Lancaster County where everyone is valued, feels a sense of belonging, and has the opportunity to thrive.”

– The Team at Lancaster County Community Foundation

We invite you to mark your calendars for November 21 as you get ready to give extra, host your own event in support of a cause you care about, or find a local celebration happening at extragive.org/p/events before heading to Fest—we’ll see you there!
