Get to know Northwest Bank, a Lancaster community partner

Their local commercial team shares why this community is great for business and connections.

Northwest Bank has been a fixture of service and community outreach in Lancaster for 30 years. Their team lends their expertise to both individuals and businesses—including being a true banking partner so businesses owners can do what they do best and work towards their goals.

Northwest’s involvement in the Lancaster community ranges from financially contributing to local nonprofits to volunteering positions to sponsoring new businesses for Fig’s Fresh Face features.

In this special Q&A, we invite you to get to know three of their local team members—Tim Rhoades, Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager; Traci Unal, Senior Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager; and Michael McCarty, Sr. Vice President Regional Commercial Market Executive. They, along with Dana Crouse, Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager, and
Rob Jones, Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager (also pictured above), are passionate about what they do and where they live.

Why is it important for Northwest Bank to have a presence in Lancaster?

MICHAEL: As the fifth largest city in the state of Pennsylvania and the County Seat, Lancaster is rich in culture and diversity. Northwest Bank is proud to support the growing businesses in the City of Lancaster, which attracts County residents to experience the splendor and the history of Lancaster.

TIM: Lancaster County has a number of “longest running,” “biggest,” “coolest,” or “historic” businesses and organizations as well as large and small manufacturing/distribution, hospitality/tourism, and of course, agricultural. This entrepreneurial spirit has helped us as one of the fastest growing counties in Pennsylvania, and we appreciate helping where and when we can.

What sets Northwest Bank apart?

TRACI: Northwest Bank isn’t just a financial institution—it’s a community partner. Whether sponsoring local events, supporting businesses, or helping building homes through Habitat for Humanity, the bank and its employees actively invests in the well-being and success of communities we serve.

TIM: I truly believe it is the people at Northwest Bank, our attitude, community involvement, and years of experience sets us apart. We believe we can make the areas where we live and work a better place when we invest our experience, time, and dedication back for the greater good. We will always do what we can for our neighbors, customers, and community.

What makes Lancaster a special place to live, work, and own a business?

MIKE: The people of Lancaster County are what make this a wonderful place to live and work. Lancaster is also close to so many major highways, which makes it ideal for businesses to open or relocate—and we are here to work with customers long-term as they do that.

TRACI: Lancaster’s residents are known for coming together in meaningful ways that foster belonging and resilience. Along with being centrally located to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Harrisburg, and New York City, it’s a place where community and culture thrive side by side.
