For Timbrel Chyatee, the dream of sharing her culture with her community through fashion has always been her mission. It was a thread that weaved through her life, connecting her to her heritage and history while also tying her to her passion and purpose—to impact and elevate other women here and across the globe.
Timbrel was born in India but raised in Lancaster. For as long as she can remember, she wished that there was a place in her hometown that celebrated and connected her and others to South Asian culture. As a stylist and designer with a passion for social enterprise, she founded such a place: Lush Bazaar on Queen Street. Timbrel is thrilled to fuse her Indian and American influences to create a one-of-a-kind shopping destination for the women of Lancaster. Lush Bazaar offers everything from couture clothing and wedding dresses to accessories and home furnishings.
Offering hand-dyed, handcrafted, gorgeously detailed pieces is just part of what makes Lush Bazaar extraordinary. Beyond the gorgeous clothing is a pattern of beautiful purpose and mission creating a story of hope and renewal through each creation in the store.
Giving back has always been an important part of Timbrel’s personal values and business plan. Each item offered at Lush Bazaar is lovingly and meticulously crafted in India where Timbrel works closely with underprivileged women. Her work helps provide these women with a stable environment and a fair income in exchange for the talent and passion that is woven into each garment. Through one-of-a-kind boutique pieces, Timbrel invites the Lancaster community to connect to the stories of these women in India and to become part of the fabric of socially conscious fashion.
