Breakfast:
What better way to celebrate the harvest season than with a Harvest Moon bagel sandwich. This signature classic is made with veggie cream cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, caramelized onion, and kale! Held together with the bagel of your choosing, this breakfast sandwich is truly a seasonal masterpiece. Pair it with some fresh coffee and you’ve got yourself a perfect autumn breakfast.
Each season, Commonwealth on Queen adds a unique twist to their menu, incorporating fresh ingredients into café favorites. One of these fun additions is the Loaded Avacado Toast. With the classic sourdough bread and avocados as a base, Commonwealth varies the veggies added depending on the season. This fall you’ll find sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach topping your new breakfast favorite. On your way, out be sure to grab a Butterscotch latte for the road. Warm and sweet, this wonderful drink will brighten that daily commute to work.
Lunch:
This fall Café One Eight is gracing us with a fall favorite, Butternut Squash Soup. This seasonal classic is a favorite among the cooler weather recipes and makes for the perfect chilly day lunch. Creamy and delightful, each spoonful of this masterpiece will warm your heart and fill your stomach.
Who says you have to eat out to get a delicious, fresh meal? Craft your favorite lunchtime grub with fresh ingredients purchased at the nation’s oldest operating farmer’s market! A visit to Central Market guarantees walking out with delicious fresh food, whether you’re shopping for a prepared lunch to eat in the square or have master plans to craft a special fall lunch on your own. Each stand owner is committed to providing you with the finest products of the season. Head out there this weekend to pick up some fresh pumpkin, nutmeg, cloves, and any other flavors of the season!
Dinner:
Annie Bailey’s is bringing together all the flavors of fall with each course of a meal. Kick-off your dinner with some fantastic Harvest Bruschetta appetizers. These delightful bites are topped with whipped maple goat cheese, cranberry chutney, baby arugula, roasted pears, preserved lemon oil, and balsamic reduction all topping a perfectly toasted baguette from Tom’s Bread. Add some greens to your meal with the Harvest Fall Salad, a gorgeous combination of roasted butternut squash, roasted sweet potatoes, toasted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, imported feta cheese, winter kale, and of course, local apple cider vinaigrette. As tempting as it is, be sure not to fill up on the starters. You’ll want to save room for the delicious season entrees including the Braised Short Rib Stroganoff, served with wild mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, spinach, red wine demi, and dusted with a white truffle crumb.
Belvedere is yet another one of the fantastic restaurants dedicated to providing its patrons with the freshest seasonal dishes available. This fall, their dinner menu includes classics with an autumn twist. When you go, try out the Duck Breast—prepared with pumpkin spears, chanterelles, broccolini, hibiscus leaves, and marcheande vian. This dish full of robust flavors is only available until December, so be sure to make the trip soon!
Be sure to make Plough, Lancaster’s newest Downtown destination, a stop on your tour of fall flavors! Plough values all the fresh and home-grown ingredients this county has to offer and uses them in each and every dish. This season, they developed a menu highlighting the multitude of delicious produce found in Lancaster. When you visit, kick-off your meal with the Smashed Sweet Potatoes, prepared with spicy honey, cultured yogurt, pumpkin seed, and sesame furikake. You’ll also want to try Plough’s Spicy Pork Schnitzel, a Lancaster classic with a twist (squash and chicory slaw with apple mostarda). Our mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Drinks:
To Amorette, crafting the perfect cocktail is a fine art. They keep a few base drinks on the menu, but every few months they update the selection with drinks inspired by all the color and senses of the season. This fall, Amorette developed five exquisite drinks fit for a crisp autumn, Friday night out. From a Blooming Gin & Tonic (Barr Hill Gin, Fevertree Lemon Tonic, Rosewater, and Cucumber) to a Mediterranean Sunset (Hendrick’s Gin, Saffron Orange Sorbet, Sparkling Wine), Amoette’s seasonal creations can be enjoyed by all.
Once you’ve downed your dose of seasonal meals, treat yourself to an evening out for some fall themed drinks Downtown! Be sure to make Iron Hill a stop, as they’ve just released their Pumpkin Ale. This beer—fit to enjoy under a full moon—is brewed with spices of the season, a touch of vanilla, and the most important flavor—pumpkin. Trust us, this one is a must-try.
