Jam out with SoWe’s art initiatives
SoWe is Fig's 2024 Social Mission Partner and will receive 10% of all Fig magazine subscriptions this year.
A centerpiece of SoWe’s work is giving neighbors opportunities to express themselves and see their dreams, handiwork, and sometimes their literal portrait reflected in the streets of their neighborhood! SoWe art initiatives are specific to the people who live here, creating the community they want to live in.
Discover some of the recent artistry you can look out for in the SoWe neighborhood.
Music For Everyone Street Piano
Neighbors came together for an evening at one of SoWe’s beloved restaurants, Spring House Brewing Company, to paint and play a new SoWe street piano. Community members are invited to come to Spring House to play the outside piano whenever inspiration strikes, now until mid-September.
Community Murals
SoWe has more than 40 community-based murals and a new one is on the way! The side of the Bench Mark Program building will be getting a new water-themed mural so come take a stroll to 100 South Water Street to check it out.
Open Mics
SoWe began including Open Mics during their Earth Day event two years ago and discovered they have a lot of talented neighbors with something to say—from dancers, musicians, and singers to poets and rappers. The event was so popular that they now offer it at their summer Block Party too.
SoWe is a resident-driven initiative of Tenfold in Southwest Lancaster City. SoWe engages the diverse voices of our community to strengthen the economic and social well-being of the neighborhood.
