Lana Ryder on finding her voice

Founder of Soundwise Health Associates, Lana shares how a love of music led her to owning the sound space in Lancaster.

Born to a musician mother, music was Lana Ryder’s first love. And through young motherhood, marriage, and years spent working in allopathic and holistic medicine, music remained a constant in Lana’s story.

“We know music can move us in ways that just talking does not. It’s built within us. It’s innate to us,” Lana mused.

During her first experience with sound many years ago, Lana’s professional background and spiritual seeking collided to create the foundation for Soundwise Health Associates—a holistic wellness center that harnesses sound for therapeutic means.

Now having spent decades studying, practicing, and learning from experts, Lana leads the sound community in Lancaster with the knowledge she’s gained over a lifetime of work.

“We’re here to learn how to love. We don’t need to look outside of ourselves to find it, but we do need to clear away a lot of the obstacles that keep us from finding it,” Lana shared. “If we can reach people with sound, voice, and music to heal and to have their own inner peace, then we can help work with
one another despite our differences.”

With Soundwise, Lana leads meditations at corporate events, partners with local healthcare organizations to introduce therapeutic sound into dementia and cancer support groups, presents sound therapy at regional universities, and guides students through The Soundwise School of Harmonic Therapy, a seven-month intensive for sound practitioners.

With each offering, Lana is cementing sound’s place as a beneficial modality in healthcare, especially during times of great societal change. Learn more about Lana’s offerings at soundwisehealth.com.
