Each year, the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA) handles approximately one million tons of trash. The organization’s mission is to manage waste as a resource to protect and benefit the community. It’s a tremendous responsibility that takes many people to accomplish, including a variety of women who work in all areas of LCSWMA. Introducing the Women of Waste—they are hardworking, dynamic, empowering, and they are helping to drive the organization forward. Although they each serve in a different capacity, they have one thing in common: pride for Lancaster County. The roles they play help fulfill LCSWMA’s core values: stewardship, safety, excellence, innovation, leadership, education, and collaboration.
