Meet Jennifer Hess and learn how her interior design studio brings warmth, character, and intention into every home.
Fourth & Lowland is a new design firm founded by consumer healthcare professional-turned-interior designer Jennifer Hess. After a decades-long career in the corporate world, Jennifer is embracing her knack for curating both beauty and function.
A Lancaster County native, she is a proud mom of three who had a serendipitous opportunity to dive into the world of design when she redid her own home back in 2022. “During that process, I got to do the design work alongside Brentwood Builders, and it sparked a new creative outlet for me,” she shared. “Fast forward a couple years, they were looking for design help, and I was able to join the team.”
After honing her unique design approach, Jennifer made the bold decision to become an entrepreneur and established Fourth & Lowland in November 2025. The name was inspired by another passion of hers. “I’m a huge Bob Dylan fan, which was passed down to me by my dad at an early age,” she explained. “True Dylan fans might be able to connect the dots on my business name. To me, the name pulls together all the artistry that inspires me—from music to writing to design.”
With a growing portfolio and a freshly launched website, Jennifer is continually grateful for the relationships she gets to build with her clients. “I really prioritize communication,” she said. “I want the people I work with to feel comfortable sharing and collaborating with me throughout the design process.”
Jennifer acknowledges the hundreds of choices people often make when designing their homes—from flooring, tile, and lighting to paint colors, hardware, and even furniture. Her job is to get to know your personal style and the way you use your home to recommend the best options for your life and your vision. “The process can be overwhelming, and I’m here to help guide you in the right direction,” she adds.
