Miesse Candies is moving to Mulberry Street

Ingrid and her team are honoring traditions and making Lancaster even sweeter.

Fresh Face

Growing up, Ingrid Natale split her time between the U.S. and Sweden, where her mother is from. During her time in Europe, she recalls indulging in ice cream and candy she describes as “next level,” and it wasn’t until she tried Miesse Candies that she found something to remind her of those childhood days and meet her high standards for confections.

When the opportunity arose for Ingrid to take over Miesse in 2022, she jumped at the chance to start a new career where she could add something special to people’s lives while carrying on the near-150-year legacy of this Lancaster small business.

Committed to craftsmanship and quality, Ingrid and her team have continued sweetening customers’ days with traditional recipes and innovative new treats while keeping the entrepreneurial spirit that Miesse was built on alive. With this in mind, Ingrid is excited to announce a new home for her business at 429 North Mulberry Street in Lancaster.

“This is a really big deal, and I am 100 out of 100 excited about our new space,” Ingrid shared. “We get to make this building exactly what we need it to be to produce the best product we’ve ever done—still using the traditional recipes and now with the ability to incorporate more classic processes like hand-stirring our molasses in a giant copper kettle.”

With the move, Ingrid plans on running smaller batches of candy so the freshness of the all-natural ingredients can really shine. She is also excited to introduce new products and experiences for customers—like creating your own chocolate bar—in the beautiful, historic space.

As Miesse continues to serve the next generation of sweet tooths, Ingrid is proud to be an example to her two young daughters and to continue serving the Lancaster community and making them smile.

Stay tuned for the grand opening of Miesse Candies on Mulberry Street later this summer.
