Pet Pantry of Lancaster County to host annual Light the Way Open House
Join Pet Pantry to celebrate the season and don't forget to bring a bag of cat or dog food!
Pet Pantry of Lancaster County is once again illuminating their building and opening their doors for their annual Light the Way event on December 7. The stunning display of lights represents a special life being honored or remembered—both pets and people.
During the annual Open House, Pet Pantry invites community members to tour their facility and learn about their services as well as participate in a pet food drive that supports the needs of pets across Lancaster County.
“I support Pet Pantry because the donations received from the public are spent responsibly to help Lancaster County animals and their owners who are in need, whether it be food for the cats and dogs, affordable medical care, or adoptions through their rescue,” shared Bernie, Pet Pantry donor.
Pet Pantry, founded 13 years ago, is dedicated to helping animals, and their families, in Lancaster County through high-quality spay/neuter services, pet food distribution, monthly vaccine clinics, and a robust adoption program grounded in foster care.
During the last 12 months, Pet Pantry distributed over 52,000 pounds of dry food to 325 families, performed over 3,400 spay/neuter surgeries, placed 356 animals in loving forever homes, and funded over $124,000 in discounted veterinary services.
“I believe wholeheartedly in the core beliefs and mission statement of the Pet Pantry to Feed, Fix, and Rescue the animals who either have no one to care for them or to help their owners keep them in times of hardship. And I love that the work everyone does is centered in our own backyard,” said Nancy, a local community member.
Light the Way is a free event, open to the whole family from 5-8PM. Guests will enjoy free beverages and light cuisine, one-of-a-kind gifts crafted by local artisans, and a tour of the facility—all under the cheerful glow of the warmly lit building at 26 Millersville Road. Bring a bag of cat or dog food and join Pet Pantry’s effort to care for pets across Lancaster County!
