SoWe invites you to join in on impactful neighborhood initiatives
Get to know Fig's 2024 Social Mission Partner and how they are impacting Lancaster's southwest.
Fig’s 2024 Social Mission Partner, SoWe is a resident-driven initiative of Tenfold in Southwest Lancaster City, engaging the diverse voices of our community to strengthen the economic and social well-being of the neighborhood.
This summer, SoWe neighbors are nurturing nature, one important initiative at a time—and you can join them! Here’s how!
- SoWe has two community compost bins in the neighborhood—one behind Culliton Park and another in Brandon Park. It’s free to join the Lancaster Compost Co-Ops! Check their website for upcoming orientations.
- Neighborhood Champions organize and lead monthly trash clean-ups in SoWe from April to October. Learn when and where these clean-ups are happening and join the group by following SoWe on social media!
- SoWe is planting trees in existing and anticipated sidewalk tree wells and yards in the neighborhood. Residents can email jacquie@wearetenfold.org for more information.
- The SoWe Parks Committee meets once a month and is looking for volunteers to help with park programming. Sit in on the meeting—held on the second Monday of the month from 4–5PM at the Lancaster REC—to see if this committee is a good fit for you.
Summer of STEM
In collaboration with Bright Side Opportunities Center, SoWe will be offering Free STEM Workshops in Culliton Park every Saturday from 11AM-1PM from June 8 to August 24. Whole families are invited to participate, and lunch will be provided.
