Support Schreiber Pediatric at the 38th Annual Rubber Duckie Festival

Join the community to raise funds for children's therapy services at Schreiber's biggest fundraiser of the year.

Mark your calendars! On Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2-5PM, local families and community members will gather on Schreiber’s campus for the 38th Annual Rubber Duckie Race & Festival. This beloved Lancaster tradition blends family fun with a powerful mission—and this year’s celebration is extra special as Schreiber marks its milestone 90th anniversary.

Inclusive Fun for Everyone

At the heart of the afternoon is the 1-Mile Duckie Dash. Designed for participants of all ages and mobility levels, the paved route welcomes everyone to run, walk, or roll—and service animals are warmly invited to join in the fun. Younger participants ages 2 through 12 can sign up for the Duckling Dash, featuring two heats where kids of all abilities can experience the rush of crossing the finish line.

While race registration involves a small fee, attending the festival is completely free for families looking to enjoy a fun afternoon together. Schreiber’s campus will come alive with:

  • Family Activities: Pony rides, balloon animals, lawn games, and interactive fun
  • Car Showcase: A special display by the Lanco MG Club for automotive enthusiasts
  • Live Music: Performances throughout the afternoon by Schreiber’s very own modern band, “The Unsinkables,” featuring talented older teens and young adults of all abilities
  • Local Eats: Popular local food trucks serving up delicious bites
  • Sensory Sanctuary: A quiet, sensory-friendly area provided for children needing a break from the excitement

A Mission That Matters

Behind all the fun is Schreiber’s mission to maximize each child’s ability to function independently and thrive within their community. Proceeds from the event directly fund uncompensated care costs for essential pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapies—ensuring local children receive the care they need regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

“When people attend the Duckie Race & Festival, they’re participating in a fun community tradition for the whole family,” says James DeBord, President of the Schreiber Center. “What they may not realize is that every dollar raised during this event helps provide life-changing therapy for children right here in our community.”
