World-class orthopedic care, local zip code: Lancaster Orthopedic Group partners with Penn State Health
The partnership is a response to the growing need for orthopedic services in Central Pennsylvania.

The active life can come with a few bumps─whether it’s a torn ACL on a rugged hiking trail, a shoulder injury on the pickleball court, or even back pain from sneezing too hard. Getting expert orthopedic care can help you get back to doing what you love. That’s why Penn State Health has joined forces with Lancaster Orthopedic Group (LOG) to provide top-level care for the full spectrum of orthopedic injuries.
LOG, an orthopedic specialty group, became affiliated with Penn State Health in February 2025, expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care in Lancaster and Berks counties. The affiliation was in response to the growing patient demand for orthopedic services in the region.
The 18 orthopedic physicians and 15 advanced practice providers from LOG are continuing to see patients at their three locations in Lancaster, Mount Joy, and Ephrata. They perform surgeries at their ambulatory surgery center at the Granite Run location in Lancaster, the Surgery Center of Lancaster, Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in East Hempfield Township, and Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading.

“Our affiliation with Penn State Health enables us as a group to grow and expand our services to meet the needs of patients and referring physicians,” said Bryan Warren, Chief Executive Officer of LOG. “We’re able to expand our practice locations and our surgery locations. And if there’s a subspecialty we don’t have—like pediatrics or ortho oncology—we now have our Penn State Health colleagues to help us make sure our patients get the care they need.”
In addition to advanced surgical care, the partnership offers immediate care for minor orthopedic injuries. The LOG same-day clinic in Ephrata is open Monday through Friday, and urgent orthopedic care is available at the Granite Run office.

“The demand for orthopedic services in Lancaster and Berks counties continues to grow, and it’s essential that Penn State Health pursues creative opportunities like this great affiliation with LOG to expand access to meet this increasing need,” said Joseph Frank, President of Penn State Health’s East Region. “It’s also vitally important that we have a breadth of orthopedic specialists offering high-quality medical care and surgeries to our patients at Lancaster and St. Joseph medical centers. This affiliation helps us achieve that goal.”
For current LOG patients, your top-tier experience will remain consistent. You’ll continue to receive expert care from the same trusted providers, enhanced by the versatility and breadth of an integrated academic health system. It maintains its current scheduling, electronic medical record, and billing systems during the transition.
LOG and Penn State Health offer a comprehensive range of orthopedic services, including:
- Foot and ankle
- Hand and wrist
- Hip and knee
- Shoulder and elbow
- Spine
- Sports medicine
- Total joint replacement
- Pain management
- Physical and occupational therapy
Dr. Corey Troxell, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been with LOG since 2010 and currently serves as its board president, sees strong outcomes from the affiliation.
“Lancaster Orthopedic Group has been proud to serve the people of this region for the past 40 years,” he said. “Our partnership with Penn State Health enhances our ability to build a better coordinated care model and bring to our patients the best orthopedic care possible.”
