Community Conversation: Housing & Homelessness in Lancaster City
September 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
As a neighborhood organization, we are increasingly aware of the impact rising housing costs have on our neighbors and our neighborhood. We hear from families who are facing evictions, older adults living on a fixed income who are struggling to pay their bills each month, and our unsheltered neighbors who do not have safe places where they can sleep.
Because this topic affects many us, we are hosting a community conversation where you can learn more about how the housing crisis is impacting our city and our neighbors, share your concerns and questions, and learn what you can do about it (that’s right, we can take action together to make a difference).
Dave Antil, a member of the Homeless Advocacy Board, will share about his own experience with homelessness. Milan Koneff, Outreach Worker for Tenfold, will share stories from his work. Deb Jones, Director of the Homelessness Coalition, will provide insights into how we got here as a community as well as plans for addressing these issues moving forward. Finally, State Rep. Smith-Wade-El will discuss how his office is advocating for housing policies at a state legislative level.
You will also have an opportunity to share how these realities are impacting you personally as well as ask any questions you may have.
