Figure Painting Workshop

This class with instructor Jason Ward will focus on strategies and techniques for painting the human figure. You will be guided through the stages of figure painting including compositional design, comparative measurement, structuring values, color mixing, and paint application methods. During the class we’ll discuss why the figure is such an important subject for both academic study and artistic expression. You will leave this class with a deeper understanding of how to approach figure painting on their own terms. You will also complete the class with a fully finished painting utilizing all of the techniques covered during lecture and demonstration.
