Introduction to Picture Books – Concept to Creation

Think of your favorite picture books as a kid. What do you love about it? What would you change? In this workshop, taught by Raven Eckman, you will be learning about the art of the picture book from concept to creation to enable you to bring your own wonders to life. In this workshop we will be discussing the history of picture books along with the steps on how to create one after coming up with a concept from the perspective of successful storytelling. This is a workshop that is primarily lecture with some time for the creation of drafts for creative practice. Expect to take notes and begin to draft an outline.
