Parent + Child: Mindful Marks Exploring the Art of Alma Thomas Ages 2-6 at PCA&D

April 1 @ 10:00 am 10:45 am

In this process art workshop taught by artist and educator Christina Lukac, toddlers ages 2-6 and their caregivers will learn about 20th century abstract artist and educator Alma Thomas and her colorful marks. Children will participate in an interactive story time of Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas by Jeanne Harvey, while also learning about warm and cool color families. Children will use their fine motor skills and decision making skills to practice using water colors, tempera paint, and mark making to create a mixed media masterpiece of their own. Caregivers are encouraged to work alongside their child during the workshop. Clothing protection will be provided but students should wear clothes that can get messy. Adaptive accommodations can be provided but please contact ce@pcad.edu with questions and needs. This is a primarily studio based class. Expect to create with some direction from your instructor! Registration covers one adult and one child ages 2-6.
