Patterns and Collage: Exploring the Work of Howardena Pindell: Grades 1-4 at PCA&D

In this course, students in grades 1-4 will learn about the work of visual artist Howardena Pindell and her painted collages! Students will create their own series of painted papers to use to cut and arrange into an abstract collage. Students will have the opportunity to explore materials in both traditional and non-traditional ways. We will also explore collaborative art making and how many small parts can create a large scale artwork! This is a studio based class with lots of guidance to start followed by one-on-one instruction. Expect to have lots creative freedom within the bounds of the assignment!
