Sculpture Explorers – Inspired by the Work of Charles McGee: Grades 1-3 at PCA&D
June 22 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

In this exciting two day class at PCA&D, students in grades 1-3 will explore sculpture by creating their own 3-D artwork, using paper and cardboard inspired by the artist Charles McGee. Charles McGee was known for turning simple shapes, lines and patterns into bold powerful works of art. Students will learn how to transform every day materials like cardboard and paper into cut shapes to make a freestanding sculpture. They will experiment with cutting folding and bending paper and cardboard. They will also explore pattern repetition and balance to build a collaborative freestanding sculpture at the end of the class! This is a studio based class with a lots of guidance and a clear goal for the end product created during class. Expect to have some one-on-one guidance and a bit of creative freedom within the bounds of the assignment! This course must meet minimum enrollment by June 15 in order to run. Register today!
