Join local historian and train enthusiast Jim Bennett for his presentation, The Rise and Fall
of the PA Railroad. This illustrated talk explores how the Pennsylvania Railroad fueled
industry and contributed to the growth and development of York and Lancaster Counties,
becoming the standard by which America’s railroads were measured.

Attendees will learn about the railroad’s ambitious beginnings, its rise to prominence, and
the factors that ultimately led to its decline. Bennett, a Lancaster County resident, has
shared his engaging train talks with numerous local groups and brings a passion for rail
history to this in-depth look at one of America’s most influential corporations.
