Resident Artist, Tina Borchert will discuss why they are drawn to painting everyday moments—cheap takeout, monthly meat bingo, storefronts bursting with signage—and how humor and maximalism shape their approach. Through exaggerated colors and playful compositions, they transform familiar spaces into expressionistic scenes that balance nostalgia with architectural observation, highlighting the beauty in the overlooked and absurd. Tina is primarily a painter whose work is defined by an interplay of nostalgia, materialism, and consumerism. They graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millersville University in 2023, with a concentration in painting. Tina was born and raised in Honesdale, PA—a small, northeastern town—and since attending Millersville, switched to permanent residency in Lancaster.
