We the People First Friday: McCaskey Combined Choirs

December 4 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Celebrate the vibrant sound of the J.P. McCaskey High School Combined Choirs in this free concert at the Ware Center in Lancaster. The ensemble, made up of the McCaskey Vocal Ensemble and McCaskey Voices of Freedom, will present a diverse program featuring both accompanied and a cappella choral music. To complement the evening’s art exhibit, the choirs will perform music from African culture, showcasing the students’ versatility and the range of musical styles they study throughout the school year, including both sacred and secular music. As J.P. McCaskey High School approaches its celebration of 90 years of choral music in Lancaster, come support these talented student singers and experience an evening of music, culture, and community. From 5 to 8 p.m., stop by the Regitz Gallery to celebrate the opening of “The Places We Go II,” a solo exhibition by Ghanaian mixed-media artist Ross Junior Owusu exploring migration as an interior and ongoing process of becoming. Through ceramics, assemblage, and mixed-media artwork, Owusu examines how memory, resilience, cultural identity, and belonging are carried, reshaped, and rebuilt across shifting landscapes. Free and open to the public!
