Fig Lancaster 2018 Social Mission Partner: Bench Mark Program

Out of many submissions and much deliberation, we’re excited to announce that we chose Bench Mark Program to be our Fig Lancaster 2018 Social Mission Partner!

At Fig, we believe in the power of a community that works together to identify needs and find solutions—one that creates connections and is passionate about helping its neighbors. Because of this, the Social Mission Partner Program began. Each year Fig partners with a nonprofit organization working to transform the community. The nonprofit gets a page in each quarterly Fig Lancaster issue in 2018, plus digital promotion on FigLancaster.com and Fig Lancaster social media.

Bench Mark Program is focused on investing in at-risk youth by providing positive, long-lasting support needed to achieve future goals and success. The program matches youth from the community with mentors who also act as trainers, teaching kids through weightlifting, exercise, academic counseling, and career development. The guidance these mentors give provides sustainable leadership training and growth.

The program was started by Will Kiefer when he was a senior at Franklin & Marshall College. He has since grown the program, continuing to provide a unique take on how to cultivate youth in the community. Future goals include expanding fundraising opportunities for the organization and further building their women’s program.
