Foster The Foodie’s Fig Foodie Finds

We love good food! And so does Corinne from Foster the Foodie. This summer, we partnered with Corinne—a self-proclaimed foodie who likes to find the best picks under $15—to taste her way around Lancaster City. She’s compiled all of her favorites into a list of Fig Foodie Finds. But don’t just take our word for it, get out and find your own favorite eats and tag @figlancaster.

    Altana Rooftop Bar and Lounge

Are you ready for summer rooftop season? If so, the Altana Rooftop Bar and Lounge is where you’ll want to be! Sip on a refreshing cocktail while enjoying the city views and munch on some delicious appetizers like their Roasted Vegetable Flatbread! And to end the night, order their Lobster Roll for a light, refreshing, and delicious dinner! You’ll definitely want to check this spot out this summer!

Favorite Dish: Roasted Vegetable Flatbread—Onions, peppers, baby spinach, tomato & goat cheese ($11)

Try it: 26 E King St.

    Chellas Arepa Kitchen

One of my favorite things to do is try new and unique food, and Chellas Arepa Kitchen is definitely a place to find some delicious, South American street food. The food truck offers made-to-order meals that are completely gluten free. They have an awesome outdoor area, but they can also be a great takeout/delivery option!

Favorite Dish: Roasted Pork Bowl—White rice, black beans, chimichurri, and cilantro aioli ($10)

    Try it: 1830 Hempstead Rd.

    Conway Social Club

If you’re interested in hanging out someplace a little different from the norm, consider stopping by Conway Social Club. Expect to be taken back in time to this speakeasy-style bar with premium cocktails and exceptional small plates. Try their “insta-worthy” Yellow Canary cocktail for a refreshing and delicious drink – and make sure to snap a pic!

Favorite Drink: Yellow Canary Cocktail—Bluecoat gin, lemon, grapefruit, honey, jasmine & vanilla bitters, meringue ($15)

Try it: 28 E King St.

    The Exchange

If you are looking for an upscale vibe with incredible views, The Exchange is the place to be. I couldn’t get enough of their amazing atmosphere and chic decor. Check out their rooftop for a special occasion, date night, or night out with friends! I totally recommend their Hemingway Margarita – the perfect cocktail for a summer night!

Favorite Dish: Pickle Brined Fried Chicken Plate—Bao buns, sushi rice, hot honey, pickles, bibb lettuce (made for 2) ($21)

Try it: 25 S Queen St.

    The Imperial

When you open the doors to The Imperial, it’s like walking into a kaleidoscope of fun, bold colors. And it doesn’t stop there! Just like their decor, The Imperial takes it to the next level with their food and beverages. I fell in love with the artistic feel and design that went into the entire meal. From the color, to the taste, to the flower garnish that added the finishing touch, The Imperial completely nailed it. Make sure to try their Imperial Crab and Shrimp Fondue —it’s to die for!

Favorite Dish: Imperial Crab and Shrimp Fondue—Melted smoked gouda poured over diced jumbo shrimp and crab, topped with herb seasoned bread crumbs, served with grilled ciabatta, apple & grape slices ($14)

Try it: 26 E Chestnut St.

    Iron Hill Brewery

When I dine at Iron Hill Brewery, my go to is a beer…it’s as simple as that. BUT, after trying their new cocktails, I have been swayed! I would hands down order the Vice City again and again! It’s fruity, sweet, and has a creamy texture that is refreshing and delicious! Definitely one of my go to cocktails this summer!

Favorite Drink: Vice City Cocktail—Silver rum, coco lopez, grenadine and passionfruit puree ($10)

    Try it: 781 Harrisburg Pike

    Issei Noodle

Issei Noodle’s food is like a home cooked meal on steroids. I still dream about their Wonton Special Broth Bowl—so warm, cozy, and comparable to an inviting hug. And don’t get me started on their Mochi Donuts! They’re spongey, bouncy, and EVERYTHING a donut should taste like! So if you’re in need of a home cooked meal, or even a hug, Issei Noodle will feed your soul and make you feel at home again.

Favorite Dish: Wonton Special Broth Bowl—Pork and shrimp wontons, spicy Tan-Tan pork, shrimp, bok choy, egg noodles, chicken broth, green onions, cilantro, fried shallots ($13)

Try it: 44 N Queen St.

    Souvlaki Boys

I am a sucker for good Greek food, and Souvlaki Boys did not disappoint. This hole-in-the-wall offers authentic and flavorful Greek street food, also known as “souvlaki.” The gyro meat is super fresh and pairs well with the warm pita topped with fries and smothered in tzatziki. And don’t even get me started on the traditional baklava with the crispy phyllo dough, cinnamon sugar, almonds, and walnuts layered and then drizzled with syrup—absolutely mouthwatering!

Favorite Dish: The Classic—Gyro meat with tomatoes, red onions, tzatziki sauce & topped with fries ($8.25)

Try it: 1 W James St.

    Yorgos

How would I describe Yorgos? A one-stop shop, that’s for sure! The first floor is the spot to go if you want a casual bar vibe, want to sing karaoke, or watch a game. The second floor brings you to a Mediterranean Taverna oasis with some absolutely delicious Greek grub like the Saganaki or the Paidaika Lamb Chops. And last but not least, their third floor takes you to Little Mykonos where you’ll find music, dancing, and VIP bottle service. From top to bottom, I couldn’t recommend Yorgos enough!

Favorite Dish: Saganaki—Kefalograviera cheese flambé table-side and served with pita bread ($11)

Try it: 66 N Queen St.

    Yuzu Asian Cuisine

Are you a sushi lover? If so, Yuzu is definitely a spot you need to try for an excellent selection of fresh and delicious Japanese cuisine! This family-owned restaurant is tucked away directly across the street from the train station and is a great spot for an affordable lunch or a BYOB dinner! My personal favorites would have to be the Red Curry or the White Geisha Signature Roll!

Favorite Dish: Red Curry—Snow peas, pineapple, cilantro, lemon leaves, potato & tofu ($11.50)

    Try it: 12 McGovern Ave.
