Local Visionary – Peter Barber

This is a city that allows each one of us to make a difference.

Introducing you to the people and places that make Lancaster special is our mission. In the spring edition of Fig, you met some of our friends who are forging new paths and are selflessly committed to our community. Now, more than ever, we want to show our appreciation.

Peter Barber – President & Founder, Two Dudes Painting Co.

……….

“I am a lifelong resident of the City of Lancaster. I cannot think of another place that I would rather live. Our city is full of opportunity and life. A community that cares and is willing to work hard and work together to make an impact. A city that brings people together and welcomes others into its mix. We have four distinct seasons to enjoy and abundant trees along the streets to mark the passing of those seasons. Lancaster has diverse cultures and lifestyles that help us to see and appreciate all of the differences of our humanity.”

"My hope for the future is that Lancaster will continue to thrive, and more people will be able to participate and benefit from our improvements and growth."

“This is a city that allows each one of us to make a difference. That difference can be on the block where we live, the business where we work, or the organizations to which we belong. I host our annual neighborhood block party, and I volunteer with SoWe to help strengthen a wonderful historic community. I also work with the Lancaster City Alliance to promote the growth and development of our city, and I help ASSETS strive to make all of these efforts available to everybody.”

Passion Project:

The boards of Lancaster City Alliance, SoWe, and ASSETS; volunteer on committees at Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Reason for Gratitude:

My children and my new grandchild (all of whom live in the City of Lancaster). I want to help make this a better and stronger community in which they can thrive.
