The Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development is back with the highly anticipated 35th Annual Rubber Duckie Race & Festival, coming September 10 from 2–6PM at Lancaster County Central Park.

The Rubber Duckie Race & Festival has become a tradition in the Lancaster community, bringing together families and friends for an afternoon of fun-filled activities while contributing to a worthy cause. Every year the Schreiber Center provides nearly $2 million in uncompensated care to Central Pennsylvania children, and this event raises funds to offset those costs.

Admission to the festival is free as attendees enjoy a wide range of attractions. A craft tent will be set up where kids can let their creativity flourish, and a talented DJ will be mixing beats for all to enjoy. Foodies can delight in the diverse array of culinary delights which will be offered at the food truck alley, and excitement awaits at the midway with an array of carnival games. With the purchase of game tickets, you can test your skills and win prizes. And of course, the highlight of the event will be the ceremonial duck race at 5PM. In celebration of the event’s 35th anniversary, Schreiber will be hosting a Duckie Reunion, bringing back ducks of yesteryear for one last swim.

In addition to enjoying a day of entertainment, those who adopt a duckie will also have the chance to win incredible prizes: $2,000 in cash for the first-place winner, $1,350 Visa gift cards for the second-place winner, $1,000 Weis gift cards for the third-place winner, and a Tanger Outlets Lancaster Shopping Spree for the fourth-place winner.

“We are delighted to bring the community together once again for our 35th Annual Rubber Duckie Race & Festival,” said James DeBord, president at the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development. “Not only will it be a day filled with laughter and excitement, but it will also enable us to support the essential care, therapies, and services we provide to nearly 4,000 children every year. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, sponsors, and volunteers who make this event possible.”

The Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development invites everyone to attend this fantastic event and help make a difference in the lives of Central Pennsylvania children, ensuring every child receives the care they deserve.

Volunteers are needed in the days leading up to the event and on Race & Festival Day. From selling game tickets to staffing a game, craft, or giveaway table, individuals and groups interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact Kristen Masengarb at kmasengarb@schreiberpediatric.org.
