While the team at LCSWMA recognizes that trash isn’t the first (or maybe even last) thing on everyone’s minds these days, they’re working hard to ensure that what happens to Lancaster’s waste is something Lancastrians don’t have to worry about. This is why LCSWMA exists: to serve you. And since their inception in 1954, they’ve remained steadfast in protecting the environment and serving the community with excellence, regardless of any assumed challenges and circumstances.
At the core of LCSWMA’s business is trash and recycling management; however, LCSWMA also believes in supporting Lancaster County by improving the environment, health, economy and livability, for the benefit of those who live, work, and visit this amazing place. One example is their involvement in open space projects like the development of the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail (NWLCRT). This 14-mile trail stretches from Columbia to Falmouth and offers stunning views of the Susquehanna River, along with exploration of the natural environment and the quaint Rivertown communities.

LCSWMA also believes that a strong community celebrates its history and tradition, while also fostering and embracing a vibrant arts and cultural scene. It’s why LCSWMA supports organizations and programming that connect people to the myriad of offerings that make Lancaster County so special.

And of course, a strong community needs a healthy local economy. So, during this pandemic, LCSWMA continues to support the economic recovery efforts of Lancaster County through providing volunteers and expertise to help facilitate the Economic Recovery Plan developed by the Lancaster Chamber and Economic Development Company of Lancaster. Alongside countless other individuals and organizations, LCSWMA is committed to helping the Lancaster community recover, grow, and even thrive through this time. As Lancaster moves forward, LCSWMA is here to help with information and resources to support and care for this special place we call home and to continue to be a champion for our community. They are proud of our fellow Lancastrians and look forward to overcoming this challenge together.
