Behind the Scenes: Winter 2021 Photoshoot at the Conestoga House & Gardens
A special thank you to Conestoga House and Gardens, whose enchanting spaces were the perfect backdrop for our cover and most of the
photography in our special gifting section.

This winter season marks 16 amazing years of spreading the love-local message through Fig. When our team dreamed up this issue, we wanted it to capture the happiness that can be found all around us. We hope the winter issue of Fig will make you smile—here’s a behind the scenes look at the making of our cover and our annual Gift Guide!
For our annual Gift Guide, we wanted to pick a place that symbolized the joy of everyday beauty to showcase the unique goods our local retailers have this holiday season. So on an ideal fall day in October, we were overjoyed to capture 19 of them and our cover at the stunning Conestoga House and Gardens—an early 1800s gem on the fringe of the city and home to gorgeously-manicured gardens.
What better way to embody the joy of the season than through the eyes of children? Our cover models—sisters Anastasia and Genevieve—were naturals in front of the camera (the giant lollipops probably helped!).
Both rabbits—Lemur and Peter Rabbit—are rescues from the Humane League of Lancaster County. You can find Anastasia’s crown headband and red jumper and Genevieve’s tulle skirt at BellaBoo.
A special shoutout to all the businesses who took part of this year’s Gift Guide photoshoots at the Conestoga House:

Each and every one of our local retailers play a role in making Lancaster the wonderful place that it is, and we are ever-thankful for their partnership with Fig. Some of our very favorite days are ones like this one—when our amazing team of designers, writers, art directors, and photographers work together to capture Lancaster small businesses and their products at their best.
Another special shoutout to the Fig Team and Creative Partners who made this day spectacular:

As we gather with friends and family this holiday season, we hope you’ll make a choice to shop and give locally to the unique retail businesses and impactful non-profits in our community.
It’s time to celebrate, Lancaster—boldly, hopefully, joyfully—the place we get to call home!
Love, the Fig Team
