Dr Fung, the Carmean Endowed Professor of Music at Lebanon Valley College will perform on Highland Presbyterian Church’s Steinway Model D Concert Grand on May 7, 2025 at 7PM. Dr. Eric Fung holds degrees in piano performance and music theory from the Eastman School of Music. He received his D.M.A. from Juilliard School. The New York Times praised his pianism for being “refined, and elegant.” The New York Concert Review also described him as a pianist with a musical persona akin to Rudolph Serkin, 1903-1991, a Bohemian-born Austrian-American pianist, widely regarded as one of the greatest Beethoven interpreters of the 20th century. A Bach Prize Winner from the Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany, Dr. Eric Fung has performed in international festivals and concert series, including the Israel Festival in Jerusalem, the European Piano Forum in Berlin (Germany), the Puigcerda Music Festival (Spain), the Philadelphia Bach Festival, the Kamerman Piano Series in Pensacola (Florida), the Lancaster International Piano Festival, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. A free-will offering will be appreciated to underwrite these self-funded concerts.
